Wälderbähnle

The Bregenzerwald railway line, affectionately known locally as the Wälderbähnle, used to link Bregenz to the mountain village of Bezau. This 35-kilometre stretch was covered by a narrow-gauge track just 760 millimetres wide. These days, the Wälderbähnle is still a sight to behold, now a museum railway running from Bezau and Schwarzenberg alongside striking mountain scenery. It’s especially popular for group outings and is a wonderful way to discover the Bregenzerwald region.
