Vorarlberg museum

vorarlberg museum, Bregenz

The cityscape of Bregenz is strongly defined by this iconic museum, which draws crowds as much for its architecture as its exhibitions. For an extensive modernisation and renovation of the building, the artist Manfred Alois Mayr created a unique façade using more than 16,000 so-called “concrete flowers” for the structure from upcycled PET bottles. The building was opened in 2013 and is home to a permanent exhibition dedicated to the culture, history, and development of the Vorarlberg region. This is complemented by various temporary exhibitions covering a surprising variety of topics. The museum is a must-see for everyone wanting to learn more about the region and its people while enjoying one of the most beautiful views across Lake Constance.
